One droplet arced down the smooth plate glass. It slid closer, then joined with another droplet, it's progress increasing rapidly. It reached the black ledge of the bottom and she sighed.
Things had been so much simpler the day previous. Easier…more pleasant.
Not like now. This miasma of self pity and despair did her no justice. Truly, though, did she have a choice?
She'd been dumped.
There really was no other way to put it. She'd been dumped and dumped hard. She'd spent hours trying to work through why, but had nothing to show for it.
No reason had been given. She was bereft and no respite would be given.
Sighing, she turned to the rain splattered window and let her mind wander back to the days of happiness she had known all too briefly.
