It should have been raining. It would've been better if even the clouds wept. But instead it was a nice, star-filled night with a bright, full moon.

Sometimes, the world just didn't know how to behave appropriately.

“Sorry I'm late,” said Shego. “I would've been here earlier, but, well, you know, I had to break out of jail first.”

The headstone didn't respond. It just stood there, announcing one name and two dates.

“It should've been me, really,” Shego continued. “Not some truck driver who hadn't had enough sleep. I should have been the one to… you know.”

A breeze caused a faint rustling of leaves.

Shego coughed. “Anyways, I didn't think I would have, given the opportunity. After all, what's the point of the whole thing if you aren't around to fight?” She paused, wondering if there was anything else she needed to say. “Oh, I quit working for Drakken, by the way. So he'll probably never take over the world now.”

“Who are you talking to?”

Shego whirled around. The first thought that went through her head was that someone was pulling a very dirty trick on her.

“You're dead.”

“Hey,” said Kim. “I can do anything. Even cheat death.”

The redhead went to stand next to Shego and stared at the grave.

“You did get hit, didn't you?” said Shego.

“I got better,” said Kim.

“You got buried,” said Shego.

“That too.”

Every time Shego breathed out, a small cloud of vapour hung in the air. It was starting to dawn on her that no cloud ever formed in front of Kim's lips.

“Do your parents know?” Shego asked.

Kim laughed. It would've been a pleasant sound under different circumstances.

“No,” said Kim. “It would only cause them more grief.”

“How considerate of you,” said Shego.

The question So why are you showing yourself to me? hung unspoken in the air. Shego decided not to ask it. Not just yet anyway.

“So what are your plans now?”

“Oh, the usual,” said Kim. “Fight crime, save the world. A bit differently than before, maybe, but still.”

“You're pretty driven, aren't you?” said Shego.

“Well, you know me,” said Kim. “I just can't let unfinished business lie.”

“Obviously.”

“I'd like it if you came with me. I don't think Ron would fit in the new Team Possible.”

“Why should I?”

Kim gave her a sideways look. “Did you cheer when you heard the news? Did it make you happy?”

“No.”

“Exactly. Fortunately, I can give you a new purpose.”

“Saving the world?”

“Amongst other things.”

Shego paused for a while, then asked, “Is it going to hurt?”

“For a moment,” said Kim. “But not a very long one.”

“How do you know?”

“I don't actually,” said Kim. “I was just stubborn.”

“Typical,” said Shego. Then, “And if I say no?”

“I'll leave.”

“Simple as that, eh?”

“Simple as that,” said Kim.

“Hmm,” said Shego. “All right then. I guess I'm coming with.”

“I was hoping you'd say that.”

Kim stepped in front of Shego and embraced her carefully. She was warmer than Shego would've thought. But then again, anything's possible for a Possible, right?

It did hurt when Kim's fangs sank into Shego's neck and her blood and life started draining away.

But it was only for a moment and not a very long one at that.
