Bonnie sipped uneasily at her decaffe latte; she was having decaffe because she was wired enough as it was, no point in terrifying the Legals she would be meeting. If anyone asked, she would deny it, hell she could not believe it herself honestly. She was there to get a legal contract worked up that would prevent her from being killed during or after an experiment, she needed to run. She was protecting herself from the wrath of Shego, and to a greater extent Kim.
Rina and Mag show up a few minutes later and the discussing begins, after a while Mag comments something to the order of 'Girl you've been in a certain Egyptian river for a while now, frankly I think someone in the Legals betting pool is about to make a big chunk of change.' before focusing on the papers Bonnie wanted to use.
“What?” She knew the Legals took small private wagers regularly but she had no idea she might be one of the items wagers were made upon.
“Some say you're just an uptight 'phobe who happens to have some kick ass friends, others say you're a closet dyke too scared to come out even to yourself, then there’s those of us who think you're something different, by the way … contrary to popular culture different can be very good.” Mag sipped at her 'spresso nonchalantly and leaned closer to Rina who just nodded and blushed a bit at the contact.
When Bonnie went silent after hearing Mag out, instead of the more familiar outraged outburst, Rina felt it worth a shot to add her two cents, hey she was normally the shy one so when she spoke up people tended to listen. “There’s nothing wrong with being Bi either Bonnie, Trust me I had a rather impression making experience recently that showed even the open minded can have something to learn from those who are different.” She went on to explain how she knew a couple that she had thought were just a happy pair however a mutual third friend of theirs began hanging out more often. After a while Rina admitted to being shocked a bit to discover the nature of their relationship but after a few weeks she understood that it worked for the three of them, they were happy and even though it was different even from what she considered 'different' it was between them and nobody else’s business. It had made her reconsider her views on relationships in general, which surprised her being the open minded person she was.
Shego glanced at the stack of papers Bonnie was waving under her nose, she knew something was up but without her morning coffee her brain hadn’t fired up enough to figure out what. How did she know something was up? Bonnie was ambushing her, she saw it as an ambush at least, before coffee, a sin of the first order in their house and Bonnie was aware of this fact.
“Look Bonnie what will be the fastest easiest and least painful way for me to get rid of you while I enjoy a few minutes of 'brain dead and no reason to change that state' huh?”
“Preferably read and sign these, but simply signing should suffice.” She waved the sheaf of papers, all neatly typed, arranged and stapled, at the thief com lawyer.
Shego snorted knowing that the 'brain dead' part of her morning off was somewhat shot at that point. She took the papers with a bit of a huff and began flipping through them, Bonnie was well prepared for 'early morning Shego' it seemed. The pages were printed in a font size Shego could easily read without her glasses. “Non violence clause? … No hitting … yelling … throwing things at … BITING?”
Shego leveled her most professional glare at the brunette. “What level of shit are you trying to pull this time Bonnie? And if it involves tormenting Ron, how can I help?”
Bonnie snorted and grinned, she figured tormenting Ron would be a big part of her … experiment, so it wouldn’t hurt to let Shego help when it came time for that. “Just sign that and make sure Kim reads and signs, mostly signs, her copies. When you got them both signed, give me my copies back and I will let you know when the next part starts. The 'tormenting Ron' part should be about half way into things.”
Ron was in the kitchen cooking up a storm, the entire house was under an aroma deluge of epic proportions, typical for Ron in the kitchen. Kim was just finishing up with the kids laundry and was ready to snuggle into her wife and enjoy some quality vegetative time with the tv until Bonnie called them to the formal dinning room for whatever it was she had brewing. Shego was finishing the last of her coursework for the day and quite ready for that snuggle time with her Princess, she was actually rather grateful that the turquoise eyed woman had managed to get most everyone out of the house for the weekend. It had been a long time since she and Kim could go at it with utter abandon. That thought brought a blush to her pale green skin.
“Look Zita, if you want to be this fucking stubborn fine, I can match and raise.” Bonnie made the universal 'wait right here' sign and marched off to the den returning shortly with her purse, billfold in hand. “Consider this me hiring you for the job of getting the fuck out of the house for the weekend. Here, here’s five hundred dollars, go have a party.” It was most of a weeks pay but it would be worth every damned penny if it would just get the woman out of the house.
Zita looked at the money in her palm and thought about how much closer it would bring her to her goal but when she looked back at Bonnie as she was preparing to accept she saw a hint of desperation in those pale eyes. It was not a sight she was used to from this particular woman. “Thanks Bonnie but no, you don’t need to buy me off.” She handed the money back and flipped her duffel over her shoulder. “Have a good weekend.” She was out the door before Bonnie could protest, she had been willing to actually pay the girl to leave and when she returned, Bonnie intended to make sure the girl took the check as it were.
Dinner was something of a nightmare for Bonnie, a dream for Kim and Shego, and the best confirmation of a career choice Ron had ever had. He had prepared a simple meal for them all and for once Bonnie didn’t complain in the least for all Shego's kosher demands. They sat around enjoying small talk for a while after eating before Ron and Bonnie shooed the other pair out so they could clean up the kitchen. Kim was officially suspicious at this point. Shego had been suspicious since Monique had been ushered out earlier that afternoon.
It was about time to find out what was going on.
Bonnie and Ron returned from the kitchen and joined them in the den. Kim and Shego wore expectant expressions, Ron was slightly confused and Bonnie was obviously nervous.
“Ok Bonnie, spill. What’s this all about?” Shego decided she'd had enough and was ready to kick things in the balls to get it started, if that’s what it took that is. “First those insane ass contracts, then evacuating the house, kids and all, for the weekend. Now dinner for four, it was delish by the way Ron, explanations are in order I do believe.” She was not above trying out her newly honed intimidation skills on the brunette.
“Well…” Bonnie began, “I'm not the most scientific people we know,” That got a chuckle or two, “but I want … no I need to conduct a bit of an experiment.” She looked pointedly at Kim for a second as she felt a sweat break out over her and a warm blush rise to her cheeks … it was a rather unnerving experience she admitted.
Shego made an intuitive guess and leaped to a distant conclusion but held out hope that their friend was not going down that road. Then she smirked to herself, the girl had really thought this out, those damned contracts were insurance.
“Kim I know you used to hate … or at least very much don’t like me …”
Kim looked a bit taken aback by the statement, she didn’t really hate Bonnie, the disliking part she could agree with but not the hating part.
“That’s why I wanted to ask you to help me with this … I figured either way it couldn’t really hurt things because we're already at odds with each other all the time anyway. I …” She wasn’t sure how else she could sell what she was proposing and she hoped that it wouldn’t sound as outrageous as she knew it was going to. However before she got the chance to continue Kim was busy dragging a rather pissed looking Shego from the room. It looked like Shego had it figured out, Bonnie wondered if Kim did. At look towards Ron confirmed his cluelessness.
Kim drug Shego out into the foyer and put herself between the pale woman and the door to the den. “Take a deep breath count to ten and calm down Shego!”
Shego blinked in surprise at the calm even tone her wife was using, surely Kim had to know what Bonnie was asking, well just to be safe. “What the fuck Kim? You do realize what she wants to do … don’t you Princess?”
Kim nodded with a grin.
“And you're fucking ok with that?” Shego practically screamed.
“They never have been the quiet type … have they?”
“Not in all the years I’ve seen them together nope. Well there was Snowman Hank day …”
“Shego calm down, look Bonnie is scared shitless right now, I can see it in her eyes … can't you?”
“Damn straight I can and damn straight she better be scared!” Shego growled as she tried to get past the redhead, who it seemed was not going to let that happen.
“Shego stop, first you are still on parole.” That got Shego's undivided attention. “Second you're under contract. Bonnie pulled some exceptional shit for this one, why didn’t you read that closer before you had me sign it?”
Shego deflated a bit and sat against the banister to the nearest stairway, Kim was right she should have read it closer before signing but Bonnie had been in top form, striking early and fast with the contracts. The smell of expensive coffee on the documents told them Legals had been involved.
“At least the contract gave us an option of refusing. Look we both have a pretty good idea what this is about so its not that big a surprise. Ok yeah I know, that’s bullshit but moving on, lets hear her out, I owe her that much at the very least.”
Shego frowned but nodded and they both returned to the den.
“So Bonnie, Why me?” Kim asked as she sat down beside Shego on the long sofa.
Ron blinked, apparently he had missed something.
“Because you … help people.” She knew that sounded pathetic but it was the truth, for the first time in a long time Bonnie recognized that she needed help from someone. She had recognized that need before but failed to act on it for various reasons, this time was different. She needed help and as if to illustrate exactly how different this situation was, Bonnie Rockwaller was about to ask Kim Possible to help her. Not just generally help, or casual help as they had managed around the house for the last few years. No this time would be a specific and intimately personal bit of help and only Kim could provide it.
“Is that the only reason?”
Bonnie actually smiled which surprised the other three. “No there are a few more but that’s the most important. Like I said, you help people, well I need your help. Only you will do because I have such high standards and … you're safest.” She said the last part in a small voice, just loud enough to be heard.
“How the fuck is SHE safest?” Shego bellowed almost lunging out of her seat, Kim managed to flop across her and restrain the older woman mostly.
“Shego! Behave!” After a minute of huffing on Shego’s part Kim decided her wife was calm enough to return to the discussion. “Ok not to play parrot but like she said, how am I safest?”
Bonnie swallowed her nerves again; Shego was scary as any demon sometimes. “Because, Kim, you're taken. Nothing I could say or do would pry you from her, period.”
Shego turned her attention directly to Bonnie and stared her in the eye. Bonnie didn’t turn away.
“It's true and you know it Shego. You're the exact same … well ok maybe a bit more flamboyant and extreme but essentially you might as well be welded to her.” There was a playful smirk on her face that surprised Shego.
Shego drug Kim out of the room.
Kim chuckled and shook her head as she watched Shego paced the room.
“Princess what do you think?” Shego herself was thinking way too many things and it had triggered a bit of an overload.
“I think I have a few things I need to set straight with Bonnie first but …”
Shego stopped she was a few feet away from Kim with her back to the red-haired woman she called wife. “I don't know if I like that but … and no ass jokes Possible … not right now.”
Kim couldn’t help but laugh, “I promise love. Now let me lay this out for you 'cause I don't think you know the whole of it, you only know a small part of our history. You have no idea how big of an ego hit this has to be for her. Bonnie asking me for help has always been one of those rare occasions that legends are made of.”
Kim lead Shego back into the den, she marched her green tinted partner to the love seat and helped ease the tense woman into it before she made her way to the mid sized couch they had, Kim absolutely loved the huge rooms the house had.
“Ok, First off Bonnie, I don’t hate you, not for a long time now.” Kim sighed as she sat down right next to the tanned woman. “Truth is I have made some stupid calls,” She grinned as Bonnie arched an eyebrow, “Don’t even, Bonnie because we both know it went both ways between us.” And then she winked.
Bonnie would have fallen over laughing if she hadn’t been so worked up, as it was all she could manage was a short loud snort of agreement and a nod.
“I … I know Kim and for what its worth I'm…”
“Don't, there’s no need Bonnie, just let it go and we'll start over … again. Ok?”
“Isn’t this like the fourth or fifth time you two have…”
“So not helping Ron!” Three voices all chimed at once, the owners of those voices just blinked a bit trying to figure that one out before shaking it off and returning to matters at hand.
Ron was an old, old friend of the Great Kim Possible, he had considered himself well heeled, a world traveled man. Perhaps he wasn’t as well cultured as some, perhaps he wasn’t as social but he had experience in things most could never dream of so when he said he'd seen it all, he pretty much figured he had. Anyone who hung around Kim Possible should have right to make that claim.
He hadn’t expected to have that theory challenged and actually pretty much proven in the same shot however
Witnessing the unthinkable, Ron Stoppable, man who 'also saved the world', passed smooth out as events, namely a rather hot kiss, unfolded.
Shego started out utterly and hopelessly furious, it was maddening in the extreme. For all of thirty seconds.
Kim smiled and nodded, Bonnie took her face in her hands and swallowed nervously before leaning in and gently pressing her lips to Kim’s.
The kiss started sweet and only worked its way to tender before the pair broke apart and Bonnie had the answer she was looking for. Her head dropped a bit as she pulled away from Kim then wiped at her eyes and looked back to Kim with a shy yet radiant smile and a small blush. “Thank you.”
Shego was still stuck on the kiss. Something deep in her brain had been triggered and she wasn’t exactly sure how to process the information, the only thing she could say for certain was that she could now fully understand why guys thought seeing two girls go at it was a turn on.
