I signed and took another drag on my cigarette. It wasn't late yet, and I had no wish to sleep, but… Oh well… I flagged barman and asked for martini. With martini in hand, I turned around and leaned on the bar. I had plenty of elbow room - noone was sitting at my sides. As always. Oh well again. I am used to being alone now.
My eyes glazed slightly, as fifth martini slipped easily down my throat. This was the part I hated most - memories. I always started reminiscing in my mind, and the only way to stop this was to drink more. Sometimes, I had to drink until someone yelled “Timber!”, to stop those memories. “What am I, twenty nine, right? And I still can't forget things happened more then ten years ago…” - I murmured to herself. ‘I need another martini.’ - I thought, but made no move.
True, private eye Kim Possible saw plenty of things in her twenty nine years of life. Mostly bad, recently, however. Most good things ended before. It all started so usual - Drakken stealing something with another hair-brained scheme. However, that time he stole nothing else but a load of miniature nuclear cannon shells. The size of a 157 mm regular shells, those miniature nukes created a hundred meters in diameter explosions. God only knows what he was going to do with them, but as usual, Team Possible was dispatched to deal with him. Maybe Drakken bought a “Cooking book of evil genius”, or something equally smart, because Shego ambushed Kim and Ron a kilometer from Drakken's hideout. Hideout wasn't usual too - instead of castle or cave, Drakken settled for a hut in the middle of the forest. Kim and Ron were forced to disembark from their ride two kilometers away from the destination - nothing could drive in the forest further, and they couldn't parachute down either.
Anyway, Shego wasn't exactly fighting to the death that day. She was just distracting Kim. When Kim realised this, she just run towards the hut, neverminding Shego. Then, Shego started fighting for real. So, Kim told Ron to go after Drakken. Too late. Just as Ron disapeared behind the trees, an explosion shook the forest. Wind blew so hard, the it struck both Kim and Shego to the ground, and ripped most part of leaves from trees. Shego stood up calmly, and said - “Guess that nullifies my contract.” Kim was about to start fight again, but Shego just shook her hand, said - “You were the worthy opponent! Thank you.”, and disappeared behind the trees. Kim was dumbfounded by this, but she had to deal with Ron, first.
Ron was closer to explosion, and was lucky to omit any lasting consequences. But this near-death experience made him realise things Kim had no desire to know. Truth to tell, Kim wasn't looking for any boyfriend. But Ron just couldn't understand that. His logic was simple - “Kim broke up with Josh Mankey Kim has no boyfriend now I love Kim Kim will be my girlfriend.” The fact Kim had no desire for any boy just didn't registered. Kim never told anybody, but Josh was just her smoke-screen. She knew, that Josh would never advance further then she'd want him to… Partly, because she suspected that Josh used her as a smoke-screen too.
All these, combined, rendered Ron so pathetic and annoying, Kim started to omit him. When he finally started to realise he is turned down yet again, he just clammed up. And one day, Kim, feeling especially generous, told Ron, who exactly she'd wanted to date. She had only two days till graduation, and even if Ron would blab it, she had time to get away before anything ugly happened.
Ron didn't blab it, but… Well, Kim noticed, how wary he became. But that was just flowers. Berries came later, when she met Shego at the Club Banana. Kim always appreciated Shego, and since there was no more Drakken, she figured she can try and bury a hatchet. At first, all was great, and Shego agreed to share a dinner in Bueno Nacho, just to talk about things, girl-to-girl. However… Kim still wanted to kick herself for lack of self-control. They were sitting, talking, eating and whatnot, when Kim, totally randomly, on a whim, leaned to Shego, and kissed her. To say Shego was surprised, would be diminishing. Shego was totally knocked out of rut. She barely had enough nerve left to utter - “I don't lean that way…”, and to bolt out of joint. Kim didn't expected this. Of course, she hoped for Shego's approval… And expected Shego to kick the shit out of her in case Shego didn't liked it. To run away was so uncharacteristical for Shego, that she couldn't've anticipated it.
But then again, it wasn't worst. The worst began next day. Turned out, that Bonnie, of all people, witnessed the kiss. Then, it all hit the fan. Ron knew, but he was indifferent about that. Maybe, should things be different, he would be supportive, but his own desires pushed him completely to the side. Of course, he didn't said anything, but Kim knew for a fact that she couldn't confide in him anymore. Not in this matter. He was a part of it too much to be objective. Monique wasn't thrilled either. In fact, she never gathered courage to speak to Kim tete-a-tete again. Graduations came a day before fiasco in the Bueno Nacho, so Kim hadn't interacted with any of the classmates after. Josh phoned, however. He was vague, but Kim got the gist of approval, gratitude and kinship. She never saw him or talked to him after, through.
Parents… Well, parents weren't bad… Nah. Who to kid? Parents treated Kim like she suddenly contracted mental decease. Especially mother. Dad was a bit out of touch, and he didn't had much problem with that, as one of his biggest fears was Kim's teenage pregnancy, and her preferences negated that completely. But, through the insistent influence of Mrs Possible, he relinguished his wane approval. Mrs Possible… Well. She, as a neuro-surgeon, had a lot of medical connections, and thus, Kim earned a whole summer of brain-washing. In the end, she wanted nothing more then getting away from parents.
At least college was sane enough - noone cared, whatever she prefered, as long as she turned in her assignments in time. Kim pursued criminalistic degree, mainly because she already had experience in that field… Sort of. Her crimefighting career took a screeching halt, however, even before college started. She just apprehended Professor Dementor yet again, and he was taken to the GI for interrogation. The mistake was that Will Du was conducting interrogation. Will Du decided to take the mask off Dementor. Maybe he was curious, maybe he decided to make a full description in protocol, who knows? The facts were, that a) Dementor had normal ordinary face, b) that his mask acted as a safety pin for an antimatter bomb implanted in his body. Resulting explosion evaporated biggest part of GI HQ, along with Will Du, Dr. Director and seventy three agents and technicians.
Most records were evaporated too. Now, officially, crimefighter Kim Possible didn't existed. And Kim had no desire to be vigilante - she knew quite well, how they are treated in the eyes of authorities. Maybe, if she was a bit less important, Kim would've remained GI agent, but as one of the key figures, her dossier and clearance level documents were existing in hardcopy only. Kim wasn't one to argue. Being a hero didn't payed a whole lot. Free rides? Pfah. Lots of good that'll be. And Kim didn't knew exactly what to ask except rides. So she stopped asking altogether. True, it wasn't like her to think that cynically, but… She didn't liked how exactly all her heroics turned out. She pulled out almost every butt in Middleton out of fire at least once, but that didn't stopped them from judging her for what had nothing in common with them.
So, she moved away. Then in college, she was contacted by a new head of GI again, but she didn't liked him one bit. Her sences told her right off the bat that the man is sleazy like a slug. So she politely but firmly declined any suggestions of returning to field. Said, that she wanted to focus on college. Then, she was surprised much, when a mail from Wade came. It wasn't a e-mail, but a snail-mail, and it arrived on the name of Kim's roommate, not hers. Roommate was quiet girl, who wanted nothing more then to be a patalogoanatomist one day, and she wasn't wery curious either. She didn't even looked at the return address. But Kim did. “Russia, Volgograd, Lenin st,27,6.” What was Wade doing in Russia? Mail was short - it just told her, how to securely contact him on the net.
Feeling curious, Kim went to internet cafe next day, and used Wade's instructions. Wade wasn't very verbose, but according to him, in the end of summer, new chief of GI made to him rather illegal request. When Wade demanded to know, what was going on, chief simply hung up on him. Wade decided to check by his own channels, but was interrupted by several armed men. Wade survived only because he still had one of Drakken's inventions in his room. It never was used in any crimes, and Kim gave it to Wade as a gift, about a year ago. He took it apart and understood what made it tick in a matter of days, but never had the time to send it to GI. So it gathered dust under Wade's bed, armed and ready to use.
Thankfully, Wade remembered about PSFG (Portable Stasis Field Generator), when he heard shots. He put the whole house in stasis and escaped, as there was noone else to save. Wade had no idea, who were the attackers, but was sure, that they were somehow connected to GI's new chief. Of course, no evidence was avalaible. Wade requested Kim to stay out of this, and she did.
Kim didn't liked it one bit, either. But what could she do? She was just a civilian now. So she went on with his life, filing those under “Solve later”. Truth to be told, she wasn't liking silent scorn she's been receiving from almost everybody she knew, that she never actually bothered with sociallife for next five years. Oh, of course, there were student parties, there were late nights in the bars, there were… But she didn't really clicked with any of those. She just wanted to be in peace. Last years in college she was coming out of her shell, a little, and there were plenty of girls in college who didn't minded a fling with her, but once again, she never clicked with anybody. And she knew why - no one of them could compare to Shego. Why Shego, Kim knew not. She suspected, that she wanted Shego just because Shego was the only one to ever really best her, or even come close to besting her. However, in reality, she respected Shego as well. Shego - the one who can be equal to her. Others… Well, they were inferior. Kim couldn't explain why, but she always was superior in any relationship. Superior not as in dominating, but in better.
When she graduated, she chose to be a private eye. Why? Because police would be boring for her, GI was offlimits now, and FBI - well, she seriously considered that. But, at the moment, she could expect only office work position in FBI. They just weren't taking in new field agents at the time. So Kim went into private business, with possibility to enter FBI when they'll have field agent vacation. However, three years passed before a vacation appeared, and by that time she carved quite a niche for herself, and decided that she didn't need another life start-over.
Thanks to her teenage heroics, she was choice one for pointy situations. GI decided to sweeten the deal for her, for reasons unknown to Kim, and bestowed her with intenational free agent title. It wasn't much, it just allowed her to join police force as a private enforcer in most countries. She was offered a position in GI several times, but she always declined. From what she knew, GI was involved deeply in illegal operations now, and she had no wish to be involved as well. Instead, she took her time discovering abandoned, conserved and acting hideouts of various law offenders. Why not? She made good money off that. Most countries offered 25 of value of the discovered loot as a reward to anyone who would find it. So she had a good side business with Wade. Wade was her secret weapon - hacker in the pocket. He still lived in Russia, as it was one of the countries who didn't allowed GI any interfearance in it's inner affairs. Between missions, Wade taught Kim how to speak Russian - they used this as a way to cut time short on long hauls.
I signed, and tried to wipe my face. And ended up poking myself in the nose. ‘Oh great! I'm officially drunk.’ - I thought irritably, and put empty glass on the bar. I was just enjoying an off week. Next week, Wade will tell me, if there is any job interesting enough for me. But right now, I was dead set on getting drunk, and maybe picking some girl in the bar, if my luck would allow that. Just in that case, I had some pills in my inner pocket. They were based on adsorbent carbons, and acted as metabolical vacuum cleaners, effectively rendering me sober as judge in five minutes. That, and giving my eyes unusual glint, almost reflective layer, in an hour.
I squinted at the door, because I just heard the bell, signifying arrival on a new customer. If it would be old fat man, I'm going to drink another martini. If it would be young attractive girl, I'm going to swallow the pill, and go strike a conversation. Of course, not all girls had the nerve to flirt back, but I think three out of five is good odds, no? So, I squinted and looked. Green jacket, black pants… Why does this looks so familiar? I popped the pill in my mouth, and closed my eyes, waiting for it to kick in. The feeling was like you had fire hose un your mouth, and it was put on full force. I exhaled loudly, and shuddered. Whew… All over. I stood up, and went to a woman I spotted. I estimate her to be three or four years elder then me. Not much chances here, but… Gotta stay in good shape, right? And she was gorgeous to boot. Inky hair down to her waist, curves of a real woman, smooth movements… I almost felt myself saluvating.
I stepped up to breathtaking beauty, and with practiced move, slided myself on a stool next to her. There was something that bugged me… Something so familiar, so wanted… I leaned on my elbow, and got a good look on woman's profile… And almost bit off my tongue. SHEGO!! Ten years elder, ten years wiser, ten years sadder, but SHEGO! Shego looked quite unhappy, but I could tell that she had no idea, that I was near. I was about to say something, when Shego flagged barman, and said quietly - “Double shot of Jack Daniels, Black.” I nodded. ‘Whatever troubles her, I'll make sure it'll be gone!’ - I vowed inwardly, tapping my holster with my left elbow. Barman raised brow on me, and I quickly said - “Gin sling.” Shego regarded me with a quick glare, but said nothing. Barmen put our drinks, and turned to other customers, when Shego turned her head again, and stared again, this time more intencely.
“Kimmie…?” - her voice was filled with uncertainity and… hope?
I nodded quietly - “Hello, Shego. Long time, no see.”
Shego shuddered, and downed her shot in one swell gulp.
“Oh god, I'm hallucinating again.” - she muttered, then stared down.
I put an arm around Shego's shoulders - “That feels real enough, not?”
Shego flinched, and looked up again.
“So… You real?” - she asked.
“As real as it can get, Shego.” - I replied. Shego dropped her head on the table.
“Oooh, don't my life sucks enough as it is? I suppose you'd want to tear my lungs out?” - she said through her arms. I nearly dropped my glass.
“What? Why would I?” - I asked.
“Well, don't you hate me, ah?” - this was supposed to be biting, I thought, but sounded out just tired.
“Why would I hate somebody so beautiful?” - I asked quietly. Shego jerked up, like she was suddenly branded on the rear. I knew that I bit the bullet, but I cound't stop now.
“I thought you hated me ever since I bolted from Bueno Nacho?” - asked Shego warily.
“No. How can I hate somebody for not being something they are not?” - I asked her evenly.
“I guess I have to apoligise even. I shouldn't've kissed you then. I've been kicking myself every day ever since. I just didn't expected you to bolt off, through. Thought you'd rather tear my face off, if you wouldn't like it.” - I added after a second of silence.
Shego blushed - “You just took me completely by surprise… I…”
She stopped midword and flagged to barman. After glasses were refilled, I asked - “How's your life, Shego?”
Shego shrugged - “Could be better. Not that I'm complaining. What about yours?”
“Oh you know… Pulling a job now and then. Has to work in odd hours sometime, but pay's good enough.” - I replied lightly. Shego regarded me with a new look.
“Kimmie… You changed. A lot. You wasn't that cynical before.” - she said, swirling her drink in the glass.
“Guess so, Shego. I always wanted to be more like you, you know?” - I breezed.
Shego chuckled grimly - “I think student surpassed teacher.”
To my questioning stare, she continued - “You wasn't packing when we last met.”
I automatically touched my gun, then relaxed. Shego nodded to this - “I knew this would happen, someday, Kimmie. You was ruthless even when we last met.”
I decided not to pursue this topic. Instead, I took a swell gulp from my glass. Shego traced my movement, and whistled silently, when she saw thumb rings on my hand.
“So it wasn't just a crush? You're honest, to the bone, lesbian?” - Shego asked quietly.
I nodded - “I know, I know. Unbelievable? Goody-goody teen hero Kim Possible turns lesbian?” Shego shrugged.
“I don't know…” - she drawled.
Just then, Shego's satchel emanated a loud ring. Shego took out cellphone, and listened. I heard snippets of words. According to my ears, it was Shego's boyfriend. It was doubtful she would allow anybody to call her ‘honey’ or ‘sweet stuff’. I nodded to myself. Maybe it was just my imagination, but I knew, that I have to check this out. I had no clues to lean on, but I was assured, that something was fishy with Shego's boyfriend. Something in his tone… In the way he put his words… In Shego's wordless attention… I stood up and mouthed - “Bathroom!” to Shego. Shego nodded and waved her something akin to goodbye. So, I went to the bathroom. There, I opened the window, and crawled through it out. Some people would say it was impossible, but I am much more flexible then normal people. Once outside, I raced to the front door, just to see Shego walking out. I smirked to herself, as I followed Shego. Shego was good at hiding, when she wanted to, but right now I was the one who wanted to hide.
Shego didn't used any transport. She just walked down the street. I followed, patting my pockets. Through that was an off evening, I took my usual stuff. In my life, I was constantly prepared for everything. Shego was heading to the quiet part of city, which suited me well. I knew from my experience, that most atrocious things could be committed in the quiet, and I was sure, that I would commit an atrocity or two, if Shego would be hurt in any way.
When Shego turned, and walked into one of the houses, I quickly shortened distance between us. I needed to know, what apartament Shego would be at, even if it meant risking to be discovered. I managed to see shutting door on the third floor. So I nodded. That wasn't that hard. I came to the door, and listened. Voices confirmed, that yes, Shego was there, and yes, she was alone with some guy. I knew I should be bothered by it, but I wasn't. Instead, I went down, and fished out empty plastic bottle from the nearest dumpster. That done, I returned to the door. It was late and dark, and I could bet noone would be in the antechamber for long. The only thing I had to fear was ocassional late house dweller, but I had plenty dark corners on the stairs to hide in.
So, I started preparing. What they say? Prepare for worst first? I took out my gun. It was my favourite, AMT Automag IV 45 Win Mag. It didn't held much bullets, but packed a helluva punch. I had double on my back, TDE Automag 180 44AMP, but I saved it for real emergencies. But, I wouldn't need half the power any of them had. Nor even quarter of the noise they created. So I screwed in my main gun a tube. I had one of those just for cases like this. It reduced caliber down to nine millimeters, allowing me to use normal 9mm ball instead of magnum ammo. So, I fished one from my pocket, and put it in the barrel. Reassembling pistol took me seven seconds. Still too loud - that's why I took bottle. I, carefully, put bottle on the barrel, and tied it with duct tape. Of course, I put on latex gloves before even taking a bottle from the dumpster. Regardless of what would I do next, noone is going to identify this with me. So, I stepped back to the door, and listened. A-ha. They went to the room to the left. I climbed stairs, and took a seat on one of them, putting gun aside me, pulling out a stethoscope and putting it in my ears. And I pressed the receiver to the wall. Shego's moan was heard quite clearly. I estimated she's in the middle of heavy petting, it just didn't sounded quite deep enough for actual sex. Hm? Maybe I was wrong all along? Maybe Shego is allright? Maybe I'm too nosy, paranoidal and possessive about somebody who isn't anybody to me? Well… Shego wasn't anybody. She was Shego. I neglected my duties for ten years, and I don't think it made Shego any good. Time for me to pick up the slack.
“NO!” - horrified gasp tore through my earpieces. I waited no more. Shego is in trouble! Quickly, I came to the door, and stuck lockpick in. Worry must've magnified my skills, because door creaked and opened at the first pull. I put lockpick back into the pocket, and stepped in, holding gun at my waist. To the left… I pushed the door open, and it did opened silently. Somebody greazed it recently, I guess. Another bonus for me. So, what do we have? Shego? Where is she? A-ha. In the corner, huddled and half-clothed. What else? Some guy, and he's not looking too good. Deep scratches across the chest - I guess Shego managed to slice him before he pushed her in the corner. If not the gun in guy's hand, Shego would've made chops out of him, but he looks like he knows how to use gun.
Shego hissed - “I thought you loved me, you creep!”
Guy replied - “You don't understand. We can be together only if you will work for him!”
Shego hissed again - “I don't care! I'm so fucking through working for anybody!”
Guy said - “Then I must kill you, I can't allow you to jeoparise my business.”
Shego just looked behind his shoulder, right in my face. Of course, I had my gun pointed in the back of his head. Shego's eyes snapped wide, and I pulled the trigger smoothly, as the guy turned around. PfooPT! It wasn't louder then book falling down from the shelf. Guy never had a chance. Nor he has any now, as he lies in a pool of his own blood and brains, nearly touching Shego's legs with his head. Oh, damn… I nearly splattered Shego with his blood. Shego looked like she was ready to scream, then she bit her fingers and stared on me. I smiled to her.
“It's all ok now, Shego, I'm here, I got you.” - I whispered fifteen seconds after, hugging Shego as she cried. I knew that we had to get out of here before morning. However, it was only one in the morning, and we had about four hours of darkness still.
Shego uttered between sobs - “He was sixth, Kimmie, sixth! That all got chummy with me, they all said they loved me, but all they wanted was to make me work for them…”
She paused for a moment, then whispered - “There's no getting away from you, Kimmie, not this time.”
What? She… Did I heard right? I smoothed her hair and said quietly - “Don't make hasty decisions, Shego. Take your time.”
She shook her head, and I saw the glimpse of Shego from old times - her stubbornness and determination.
“Kimmie, I decided long ago, after second, that I'll try six times. As they say, seven is lucky number. If all six fail, I long ago decided, that I'll seek you out and let it be whatever you want. Maybe I was stupid before. Maybe I should've had more self-control, not you. Maybe I acted immaturely ten years ago.” - she wiped her cheeks, and gave me a stare, etched with furious joy.
“I hadn't realised how happy I was then.” - she concluded.
I nodded - “Shego, we'll have to talk it out… Right now, how about blowing this joint?”
She looked on the body and shuddered - “What about him? I… I dunno. You killed him, don't you?”
I snorted - “He had it coming, Shego. Better me then you, anyway. Let's get out of here.”
She stopped me, by pushing me in the chest with both hands - “Waitaminute! What was that about better you then me?”
I shrugged - “I mean, that you haven't killed before. I did.”
Shego blinked, and her mouth formed silent “Ooo!”, then she closed it with a clam. But before she could say anything, I said - “Shego, chill, ok? This is so not drama. If we'll have to kill somebody else, I'll let you do it, if you want to. I just thought that there is no sence staining clean hands with blood.”
Shego shuddered again, and asked - “So what now?”
I said - “Let's get out of here. Is there any chance someone from here will remember you?”
Shego shook her head - “I came here only once before, and it was dark too.”
I nodded - “Ok, let's loot this place, and split.”
Shego chortled - “Hero, my ass… Kimmie, you're cut out to be a villain, you know?”
I snorted - “I prefer to be private eye/mercenary, thank you very much.”
Shego regarded me with a respectful look.
“I haven't quite been able to do that.” - she admitted.
I gave her lazy smirk - “It's a gift. Now, let's go. When sun rises, we must be both sleeping peacefully.”
She shrugged - “No problem.”
We trashed the place completely, but quietly. Loot wasn't much - about two grands, and silver studs. Shego took a pen from the desk in the cabinet.
“It has golden tip.” - she whispered to my surprised stare. I laughed quietly, and nodded to the door.
“After you, milady.” - I said with a bow. Shego giggled and was about to walk through, then she swore.
“I forgot! Where's my shirt and coat?!” - she whispered urgently. I couldn't help, but laugh. I didn't realised, that Shego was dressed only in bra and pants. Shego blushed and darted to the bedroom. I hoped she wouldn't stumble on a body. In a second, she dashed out, buttoning shirt down.
“I bet you got the kick out of seeing me prance around like that, you pervert!” - she muttered. I laughed louder. She rolled her eyes on me, and grabbed her coat from the hanger.
“Let's go, you rep!” - she called out. Still giggling, I walked out of the door, and shut it tight behind us.
Outside, I undid tape around the bottle, and stuffed bottle and tape in the dumpster from where I took it. Shego looked on it.
“Makeshift silencer, eh?” - she asked. I nodded - “Yeah.” I took out a tube out of my gun next. Shego looked on it curiously.
“You… You sly fox!” - she said, - “Caliber diminisher! So that's why it sounded so quiet! I thought I just gone deaf from emotional tension.”
I smiled, and hid the tube in my pocket - “Now, I couldn't fire .45 Win Mag there, could I? Whole mess of policemen would be there before we would walk out of the door.”
Shego laughed quietly - “Yeah, exiting a-la Englishman has it's advantages.”
We strolled down the street. I headed back to my flat. Wasn't much to boast about, but it was comfy, and had a big bed - something I wanted dearly now. But…
“Hey, Shego, where do you live?” - I asked.
“Crab Laguna hotel.” - she tells courtly.
“Do you have anything important there?” - I asked.
“Nothing worth returning for.” - she replied, - “Just a suitcase of dresses I never liked anyway.”
“Okies. You're spending night in my place.” - I concluded.
“And after that?” - she asked.
I smirked - “If you'll feel there is the need to change scenery, we'll move interstate. But I think we can safely stay here for a while. As for what next… Once again, if you'll decide it is necessary, we'll rent you a flat. But I would like you to stay in my place.”
Shego cocked an eyebrow on me - “Why do I smell a rat here?”
I chuckled - “Maybe because I'm on the way to becoming one. New steel model.”
Shego snorted - “Don't tell me you get kicks from reading Garrison too.” I laughed louder.
We arrived at my flat at about two at the morning. I was yawning like no tomorrow. Shego was holding up better then me, so I let her open the door. Once inside, I shut the door tight, slid the deadlock in place, and stumbled out to the bedroom. Once there, I fell on bed with a voluptuous yawn. Shego looked on me with a sort of intrigue.
“Do I have to unclothe you too?” - she queried. I, with a difficulty, stood up, and began shrugging my coat off.
“You… yawn… Want to eat?” - I managed to say.
Shego shook her head - “No, I want to sleep.”
I stared on my bed… ‘Shit! I have only this bed! And no couches. It's queen-sized, but it's one bed. Oh well… I'll sleep on the floor or something.’ - I thought. I took off my coat, finally, and unclasped elaborate system of straps which held my holsters in place. They fell to floor with resigning thud.
I looked on Shego - “Shego… I've got only this bed. So…”
She cut me off with a smile - “How about we share it then?”
Oh? Sure… I returned her smile tooth to tooth and said - “If you say so.”
I pulled my top off, and undid the buckle of my belt. Shego was watching me, I suddenly realised. I blinked at her - “What?”
She shook her head - “Nothing, I… I just never realised how sexy you are.”
I blushed, and took involuntary step back. With my pants sliding down my legs on my ankles, I ended up falling flat on the back on the bed. Shego giggled, and before I could react, she pulled my pants off me. I shook my head, and crawled under the blanket, leaving left side all empty, for Shego.
Now she blushed, and I giggled - “I can turn away, while you're disclothing.”
She bit her lip at that, and quickly undid her shirt, and tossed it on the floor, then bent down, taking off pants. I whistled - “Whoa. And you call me sexy?”
She blushed so hard it went down her neck on her arms and chest. That didn't stopped her from climbing in bed through. She pulled the blanket over her, and our legs came in contact. She didn't yanked it off immediately, but rather lingered for a second.
“Kimmie?” - she whispered, as I clapped and lights went off.
“Yeah, Shego?” - I replied.
“Can you… Hold me? Just for a while?” - she whispered hoarsely. Oh-uh… Things catching up again. I put my arms around her and held her slightly pressed to myself.
“So nice… warm and gentle…” - she murmured, and I almost felt how she fell asleep. She just switched off. I traced my finger along the soft skin of her throat, and smiled.
“I'd like to get used to that…” - I murmured, falling asleep.
