A simple snatch and grab; that's all it was supposed to be. It was like any other mission that blue buffoon of a boss sent her on; some new piece of tech would pique his interest and he'd send her off like a trained Labrador Retriever. Oh, it's not like she couldn't get the hardware without tripping any alarms; no, it was always his fault she got caught. The really important stuff he should just leave to her then they wouldn't have to worry about crazed teenagers with delusions of grandeur. As it was, they were forced to skip out before Drakken managed to grab whatever ridiculous bauble he was after.
“I swear, if he didn’t pay so well…” Shego let the comment hang as she started to cut through the two-inch-thick windows of Tessa Corp’s top floor. Leave it to Drakken to want something that was kept in the CEO’s private vault. With her plasma, she was able to cut a hole in the window without much effort and avoid the alarms that would accompany just breaking the glass; heck, it was harder to scale up side of the eighty story building. She tossed in a smoke bomb to reveal the laser security grid. A quick twist here, a baseball slide there; complete child’s play for someone as experienced, and limber, as Shego.
As she approached the CEO's office door her enhanced senses picked up the faintest of sounds coming from inside. She knew the guards weren't due to check this floor for at least another twenty minutes so her danger sense instantly went up another few notches as she looked into the office.
“What the hell?” she whispered to herself. Inside the office the safe was already exposed from behind the false bookshelf and being worked on. The green-clad thief was amazed, there shouldn't be anyone else in the country that could beat her to the goods. The figure was about her size if not a bit smaller. What was even more vexing was that she was wearing an exact copy of Shego's catsuit only it was red and black instead of green. The figure was using a small pocket scanner to map out the locking system.
‘Well, I’ll just let them do all the work and steal the plans once they‘re once the safe is open.’ Shego leaned back against the door frame and pulled out a file to work on her nails; why do work when someone else would do it for you? The mystery thief finished scanning the lock and went to work. A pocket laser cut a small hole into the thick steel door. A small fiber-optic camera was slid into the intrusion. Shego imagined that it was for disabling the elaborate alarm system from the inside. Pretty ingenious for a rookie. Shego figured the new thief had to be new to the game if she hadn’t already heard about them. Of course, she would have just melted the safe with plasma, grabbed the plans, crash through the window, and parachute to safety. That was Shego’s style; sneaky to get the target and brash on the escape. After all, she was already wanted for more crimes than she could count, what’s the harm in having a few more tacked onto her record?
An audible ‘click’ brought Shego out of her thoughts. The thief had already disabled the security and picked the lock in no time flat. The green-skinned woman figured now was as good time as any to make herself known.
Quiet applause greeted the red-clad thief as the safe swung open. The thief spun around in time to see a smirking woman step out of the shadows.
Shego had a cocky smile on her black-painted lips as she got a closer look at the mystery thief. Now that she could see the front of the person Shego noticed they had the classic black ski mask covering everything but the thief‘s blue eyes. The way they were narrowed showed that their owner wasn‘t in a mood to talk. Too bad. “Pretty good. I really didn’t expect someone to beat me here.”
The other female thief, Shego saw the sex of the thief from the curves in the catsuit, positioned herself between the green thief and her prize.
Shego ‘tisk’ed’ and held up a blazing fist. “You really don’t want to do that. Just because you managed to get into a vault doesn’t mean you can take someone like me on. I’m Shego; you know that, right?”
The red-clad thief nodded her head and whipped out a large knife she had strapped to her leg. Shego sighed; she really didn’t want to hurt the rookie. “One last chance; back off.”
The other woman tenses but held her stance. When she spoke, her voice was distorted into a digital-sounding one by a synthesizer she was probably wearing under the ski-mask. “Some great thief you are; letting someone else do all your work for you? I’ve heard rumors that you’re lazy like that but I didn’t think the great Shego would stoop that low.”
Shego snarled; that was it, the rookie gets a free lesson in respecting ones elders. With a low growl Shego flew at the other woman. The red thief narrowly ducked under the flaming punch and lashed out with a sweep. Shego quickly hopped over the leg and tried to bring her fist down on her crouched opponent. The mystery thief rolled out of the way and again dodged Shego’s assault. With a quick knife slice Shego hissed in pain. The back of her hand now had a thin line of red seeping though a tear in her black gloves. The green-clad thief decided to put some distance between her prey and cartwheeled out of range as she nimbly missed another swipe at her arm.
“Nice knife; it can get through my plasma without melting?” Shego asked with a raised eyebrow. Her hand stung but it wasn’t enough to drive her to distraction. If Shego could have seen through the mask the other woman was wearing she would have sworn her opponent was smirking at her.
The knife-wielding woman casually whipped the small amount of blood off her weapon. “Well, it always pays to prepare, peaches.”
Shego’s eye started to twitch; this upstart had a nickname for her? She was going to be a greasy spot on the carpet when she was done! “What the hell did you just call me?!”
The red-clad thief then did the unthinkable and winked at Shego. “No use getting all riled up over it. If you lose your cool…” she was forced to trail-off as Shego launched into another round of combat. This time her attacks were more powerful and less coordinated. The red-suited female stood her ground and with a simple flick of her wrist the green woman was laid-out by the force of her own attack. Shego recognized the fighting style and cursed from her position on the floor; Aikido. For all the martial arts Shego knew, Aikido didn’t appeal to her as she was a more direct-type fighter. Before she could even move, however, she felt a series of taps on her chest and arms. As the blinding pain assaulted her nervous system, she could only watch the red-clad thief waltz into the vault and return with a familiar-looking briefcase under her arm; it was the one she was supposed to steal.
Through gritted teeth Shego hissed out a few words to her opponent. “What…the hell did you…do to me?” The pain from the points the other woman had struck hadn’t diminished in the least and it was beginning to worry the raven-haired woman.
“Oh, you’re still conscious? Better than I thought but not as good as that teenager I fought last week. She wouldn’t attack me so I couldn’t use my Aikido style. What I used to subdue her, and now you, were a few Atemi hits. Sure, most people won’t teach the art of the ‘death touch’ but it’s worth finding someone who will. See ya, peaches.”
Shego seethed as she fought to turn her head to follow the path of the red-clad thief as she walked out of the office door, briefcase in hand. Shego almost blew a fuse when the thief started to climb out of the hole Shego had originally planed to use to escape after she maneuvered past the various security lasers.
“See ya, peaches; it was magical.” the blue-eyed woman cooed. As an afterthought she shot out with her hand and purposefully tripped one of the trip lasers causing the loud alarm to start sounding. As the security bars clamped shut on the windows Shego saw the girl blow a mocking kiss as she leapt out of sight from Shego’s position.
The last thought the older thief had as the guards started to pour into office was how she was going to hunt that blue-eyed bitch down once she broke out of prison…
In a worn-down warehouse in one of the more sordid sections of Middleton a meeting was taking place. Sure, these kinds of things go on all the time here but one of the parties at this particular one would have had the attention of a certain raven-haired super thief were she not in prison. “Did you get it?”
“Was there any doubt? Here.” the red-clad thief laid the briefcase down on the small table and backed off. From the shadows of the building a generic-looking man in a business suit walked up to the table. He was about to reach for the briefcase when a small knife embedded itself by his hand and into the table. The man stopped in shock as he carefully looked over at the masked thief who was picking her nails with another knife.
“You don’t get it until I confirm the transfer; that’s the deal.” the thief snarled in her digitalized voice. The middle man looked back into the shadows of the building for a moment before slowly pulling out a small video screen.
“U-um…w-where would you like the m-money transferred to?” The random henchman was obviously still nervous from his close call and the fact that the masked thief was now tossing her knife into the air and catching it.
“The usual account you put my payment into. Be quick about it, I do have other things to attend to.” the thief sighed. When her wristwatch beeped she knew the transfer went though and smirked under her mask. “Pleasure doing business with you all but I’ve got to go. Enjoy building your new toy, Dr. Dementor. As the thief turned to leave the short, helmeted German walked out to where he could be seen.
“Miss Cleis.” The thief stopped before she walked out the door. Looking over her shoulder, she motioned for the man to continue.
“I have another job for you to do. I assume you’ve hear of…Kim Possible?” Dementor asked as the fidgety henchman handed him the briefcase. Even though he usually didn’t steal things, the small mad scientist couldn’t help but grin; these plans were the key to taking over the world! He had to force himself back to the present; things had to be done before he could implement his perfect plan.
Cleis tilted her head in thought before nodding. “Some teenager running around and beating up on ‘great and powerful’ villains like yourself, right? Yeah, I’ve heard of her; even fought her once or twice.”
The small German scowled at the dismissing sound of her voice as she answered; it even translated past that creepy voice synthesizer but he forced himself to stay cheerful. “Excellent! Then you know exactly to expect from her. I want to hire you to keep her out of my hair until I rule the world! We could--”
The thief held up her hand to stop the Doctor’s delusions. “I don’t do long-term projects no matter what the pay. I’m not like Drakken’s lackey, Shego.” she reminded. Dementor looked crestfallen for a bit but dismissed the business with a wave of his hand.
“You’re right, so sorry I brought it up. I’ll contact you with more work once I have it.” Truth be told he was a bit jealous of Drakken on the point of Shego. Oh how he wished for such a competent assistant.
“If you have another job you’ll have to book it in advance. I have my plate full for the next few months with other jobs. It was good working with you…Dr. D.” Cleis chuckled to herself as she slipped out the door to the warehouse leaving a cackling Dr. Dementor to his madness…
A very pissed Shego made her way back to the ‘hidden’ lair where her boss/partner/whipping boy Doctor Drakken had currently set up shop. The pale woman was in no mood for Drakken’s usual crap. Oh, she didn’t go to jail but she came close. The guards managed to get the police out to the building before the pressure point attacks wore off. After that it was just a matter of fighting her way down sixty stories of cops and hired guards; she was in no mood for what Drakken had planned for her when she steeped into the lab from the helipad doors.
At the sound of the doors opening, Drakken knew his underling was back. If he would have taken the time to turn around to look at said underling he really wouldn’t have opened his mouth at all. “Shego! Where have you been for the last few hours?! Did you get the plans for the compact particle accelerator?”
Shego snarled at him like a feral animal. That caused him to turn around in confusion but his eyes widened at what he saw. The woman was beat all to hell and her trademark catsuit had several large holes in it. Her hair was standing on end a bit as if she was shocked a number of times most likely from a taser gun as he could see at least two leftover needles sticking out of her side.
Drakken was never one to know when to let some things go and he stayed true to form. “What happed to you! You look horrible.”
In the blink of an eye Shego had crossed the distance of the lair and was now hoisting the clueless doctor up by his collar. As she held a flaming fist up to his face she hissed out a few words. “Don’t…ask…” With that, she dropped him like a sack of potatoes and headed to her room.
She paused at the door, however, and looked over her shoulder. “Dr. D, find everything you can about some new thief wearing a red and black catsuit. Once you have something, call me.” And with that, she headed off to her room. Drakken stayed in a stupor for a few moments as the recent events played over in his mind. How dare she order him around like that! She was his employee and she didn’t even do her job. If she couldn’t even get one little thing why was he keeping her around? Of course, he was thinking all these things as he hurriedly searched the internet for what Shego had asked; not even he was clueless enough to bother her in the mood she was in without having what she asked for…well, not after her demonstration of her mood…
Just a note: the two martial arts styles used by the other thief are real. Aikido and Atemi are old styles. Aikido is a defensive style that uses an opponent's momentem against them and Atemi is the art of pressure point manipulation. I know a few Atemi moves and lemme tell you, they hurt like hell if you hit them right.
