Valentine’s Day. The day when one shows their love to the one they love.
“Pfah.” She kicked the ground in disgust, knocking a pebble into the air.
It went further than she expected it to go.
KLANK.
“Shit!”
KREEEK.
“Hello?”
The cold wind blew.
“Hello?”
Nothing but the wind’s low howl answered.
KREEEK.
K-THNK.
She sighed. Then she shivered as the cold gusts picked up.
Then she kicked herself. DAMMIT! DAMMIT! WHY DIDN’T I – GAH, FUCK!
Just – Dammit, why is this so hard? They’re out for their night on the town, so why not you – ARRGH! IT SHOULD NOT BE THIS GODDAMN HARD! Go up the front door, ask her out, watch her stunned reaction, then take her with you even if she doesn’t say yes! You can do this! C’mon, now! Just-
A car drove into the parking lot.
“Booyah! Think she’ll be ready but just make us wait, buddy?”
“Unh-uh. Nope. Nope.”
“Yeah, that doesn’t really sound like her.”
He got out. All dressed up for the big date. THE DATE THAT SHOULD BE M-
Her ears perked up. They were talking. “Weird noises?”
“By my window. Something hit it earlier, but it may have just been a pebble kicked up by the wind.”
“Enh, don’t worry about it. Worry about gettin’ into the car before you catch a cold!”
Oh, THAT’S romantic…
She snorted.
It was louder than she'd intended it to be.
Red hair spun-.
SHIT!
“Hello?”
Nothing but the wind.
“Hello?”
“C’mon, it’s just the wind. You’re hearing things.”
“Yeah, I guess you’re right. Let’s go.”
The car pulled out of the driveway and faded out going around a turn.
At which point the three branch had to crack.
POOMF! The snow cushioned her. She actually disappeared beneath the pack that had accumulated.
Which promptly collapsed in on top of her with a soft WHUMP.
Popping her head up, she looked around.
The chocolates!
She checked the box. Luckily, they were all there. Phew…
Brushing the snow out of her hair, she decided. It took her a bit to arrive at it, but she decided. She pulled the tarp off the other car in the driveway & wrapped it around her as she sat on the welcome mat.
She couldn’t give up now. She’d done it so many times before. And always felt like crap afterwards.
She shivered. But she’d made up her mind. She wasn’t going to budge. She’d promised herself that.
And Shego never made a promise to herself that she didn’t keep. She hugged herself as the wind blew.
Even if I go Donner Party out here tonight, Kimmie – I will let you know how I truly feel about you.
